Kitagishi's world, drawn with acrylic gouache, has a nostalgic and warm feel that reminds me of my childhood, when I was fascinated by picture books.
Her cover is a piece called ``Omiyage,'' which is carefully drawn with over 80 different motifs. In addition to the imaginary items, many of the items are items that Kitagishi has actually purchased or received and cherishes. A seal snow globe, a pouch with a face on it, a cat stamp, a rose tea bag... All of them are glittering and scattered like treasures.
Each one has a motif that tickles a girl's heart, but the black background makes the whole thing look mature.
