Item Description

Mini folding screen, group of cranes, written by Kano Tanyu
Japanese masterpiece mini folding screen, two folding screens

While inheriting the flow from Momoyama paintings, he studied deeply Sung Yuan paintings and Sesshu, appropriately used thick and thin lines and shading of ink, and developed a light and elegant painting style that made use of the blank space of the painting area, and was inspired by the Edo period. This is a replica of a work said to have been written by Tan'yu Kano, a Kano school painter from the early Edo period who created the basic tone of the painting.
